Colapesce Plates

Finely painted by hand, this set of decorative plates in glazed red clay belongs to the Colapesce Collection. The series is inspired by a Sicilian legend about a half-human, half-fish creature who chose saving his beloved island at the cost of his own life. Underwater fauna is depicted in a mutual dialogue between different marine species rendered in sunburst compositions using vibrant enamels.
